The Matthaei Botanical Gardens is the perfect place for any wedding. Even on one of the hottest days of the year, which it was for this wedding, but its beauty did not fade and Matthaei Botanical Gardens is easily one of the most beautiful wedding venues around. The grounds full of lush exotic flora from all over the world makes you feel like you’re not in Michigan at all. Ask any wedding photographer in the area and they will immediately reminisce about how beautiful Matthaei is. From the large glass roof providing the perfect light for every photo.
This day began like every other. We like to always get on location early to grab details and take a photo environmental photos. Doing so always gets us in the right headspace where we can begin to create and relax. It’s not easy to snap our minds into wedding mode but once we do it’s like we’re on autopilot. We quickly do our greetings, put a name to a face, and get photographing everything. From there it naturally flows. We see moments happening from smiles across family and friends faces followed by subtle signs of tears welling up in those around.
